10 Healthy Takeaway Options
Sometimes it’s just nice to have a quick meal out, it’s nice to have someone else cook for you and nice to have it super quick especially when you are really hungry! There is this misconception that takeaways are all bad for you so I thought I would put together a post on some healthier takeaway options.
If you are from one of the big cities then you definitely have more options but that should not be an excuse for those of your in smaller centres as many of these options are available to you and if they are not then you can always go for one of my favourites – a rotisserie chicken and salad from the supermarket, quick, easy and healthier than a burger and fries!

Revive Cafe’s
An Auckland based outlet with stores in the CBD you can get lovely hot meals that change each week and they also have an extensive salad bar. They also produce a number of cookbooks so you can make their food at home!

Donburi bowls are my go to takeaway option. It’s basically a Japanese lunch bowl with rice, veggies and meat. I personally skip the rice and ask for extra veggies. Katsubi offers a great selection of veggies and meat dishes, and is great value for money.
Ooh yes I love donburi as well! My only downside with it is that the meat is often coated in a lot of sauce and I’m never sure if it’s been deep fried or not, but they are so tasty!
True. If you ask nicely though, you can get the salmon sashimi as meat toppings. That and some miso soup keeps me full but not drowsy for the rest of the day.
That’s a good option, I didn’t know you could do that!
