A couple of weeks ago I put together a list of a few of the best places to buy affordable workout clothing. I thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of the best places to buy affordable workout equipment. You don’t need a lot of equipment to have all you need to get some really good workouts in at home so this post might be helpful for those of you who want to workout in the comfort of your own home.
Best places to buy affordable workout equipment
// Number 1 Fitness
We have purchased the bulk of our exercise equipment for Bootcamp from Number 1 Fitness because they are reliable, reasonably priced and shipping is pretty reasonable on the heavy items as well which is very important when you live in a smaller town. Plus they have some pretty decent sales and if you’re lucky often do free shipping as well.
// Mighty Ape
I had NO idea Mighty Ape sold half the things they do, let alone exercise equipment so it was a nice surprise when I discovered that they have a reasonably sized fitness and nutrition section which includes protein bars as well. With same day shipping for those in Auckland and next day shipping for much of the rest of the country I was suitably impressed at how quick I got the items in my hot little hands.
// Kmart
I have confessed my love for Kmart over and over again and they do not fail in the exercise equipment department either. While the range isn’t huge for their workout equipment, you can find all the basics including kettlebells, skipping ropes, swiss balls and bands. My qualm with Kmart is that sometimes they have a range of stock which sells out then you can never get it again. I fear our 6kg kettlebells will never have matching partners.
// The Warehouse
Similar to Kmart, The Warehouse has a limited but great range of workout equipment. We recently purchased another swiss ball from here for only $8! Their exercise mats are also a bargain and we will probably be grabbing a few more soon as our Bootcamp classes are growing and we are doing more mat work.
// Sports Direct
I had forgotten all about Sports Direct until Annalie reminded me about them on twitter. I had visited the Sports Direct store in London and walked away with a couple of bags full of goodies and it was all super cheap but good quality! I have since ordered padded bicycle pants (blegh, I know but super handy!), for about the third of the price they would cost me in NZ! Shipping is reasonable and quick as well.
You can find the items in the collage above in the following places:
1. Racquetball Ball – Sports Direct – $10 (Great for massaging sore body parts!)
2. Speed Rope – Mighty Ape – $9.99
3. Runners Journal – Mighty Ape – $28.99
4. Kettlebells – Number One Fitness – $2.95 per kg
5. Foam Roller – The Warehouse – $13
6. Yoga Mat – Kmart – $10
7. Push up Bars – Number One Fitness – $10
8. Swiss Ball – The Warehouse – $10
9. Runners Bottle – Sports Direct – $5.98
Which item would you most like to have for your home workouts??
