It’s cold and winter is definitely here, it has been for some time now. I find myself always getting itchy feet and wanting to plan a big (or little!) trip whenever it gets to this time of year, mostly as an escape from the cold and partly because it’s been a long time since the Christmas break!
Since funds and other commitments limit whisking us away at the drop of a hat I thought I would share my mid winter travel lusts in a blog post in the hopes that it will stop making my feet so itchy. [Dream on!]
// Queenstown
Queenstown may seem like an odd choice since I am looking for a winter getaway however Queenstown is absolutely beautiful and I’d love to fly into Queenstown in winter to see the snow covered mountains and hills. I would however like it to be a nice fine day when I am down there 😉
// Bali
Bali has found itself a place in my ‘must travel to soon’ list over the past year or so. I’m not entirely sure what it is about the place, the heat would be nice, the shopping would be nice and so would the beaches and the beautiful scenery.
// Hawaii
Take me back to the sun and sand of Hawaii! What I wouldn’t give to be chilling on a nice warm beach right now. Somewhere where the shopping is good and we could even go snorkeling again!
// Italy
One of our Bootcampers is off too Italy and it has made me think how awesome it would be to be in Europe in Summer! I’ve only ever been in winter and it was so damn cold! Imagine relaxing looking at that view – bliss!
// Camping NZ
I can not freaken wait until summer is back and we can crack out our tent again. Camping at the start of the year was like heaven, especially when we got the whole campground to ourselves like we did in Upper Mangatawhiri!
Where would you like to go to this winter??
I would LOVE to travel anywhere this winter. This weather has me super depressed and wishing I was some where hot and in the sun – maybe Fiji again!
This weather is awful right! At least winter is nearly over and we’ll be heading in to warmer weather! Fiji would be awesome! A trip up to the far north would be good too as it should be warmer there!
