There is something deeply satisfying about making handmade presents, and this year this is something we know very well as we had a large number of presents to organise! There is also something awesome about Mason Jars, they’ve been popular for the last couple of years and I still really like them.
I’ve teamed up with two of my blogging besties to bring you a little Mason Jar link up! I’m doing Mason Jar Granola which makes the perfect gift, Sam is doing Mason Jar Gingerbread People and Christel is doing a beauty themed mason jar gift with bonus instructions on how to make your own clay gift tags!
This granola is actually a no-grainola as there are no grains which makes it naturally gluten free and it’s also free from refined sugars. It’s super easy to make this granola in big batches for presents which actually works out quite cost effective despite the cost of nuts and it makes a cute little gift as well. You’ll see from the photos that I did a bigger mason jar as well as a number of smaller batches of the granola in small milk bottles.
The beauty of this mason jar granola gift is that you can swap out ingredients and add in whatever ingredients you like. You can also change the look of the present by changing out the jars that you use as well like we did. We thought adding a little straw to each milk bottle was a cute touch as they can be used to drink out of once the granola has been eaten. Of course we went with christmas colours when it came to tying our bows but you can use whatever you want.
Granola Ingredients
500g Coconut Chips
200g Pumpkin Seeds
200g Sunflower Seeds
100g Cashews
50g Almonds
75g Dried Cranberries
2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
Directions
1. Pour all of the nuts, seeds and dried fruit into a deep baking dish.
2. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and mix together.
3. Drizzle the coconut oil over the top of the tray.
4. Bake at 160 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes (half way through mix the ingredients around again to mix the coconut oil through the crisp the coconut chips that are at the bottom)
5. Let cool and store in the pantry (stores for ages, I’ve had it last 6 weeks comfortably but it’s always been eaten before any longer than that!)
Putting together your gift
1. Spoon granola into your mason jar – ensuring you get a nice even mix of ingredients.
2. Tie a pretty bow on the jar
3. Smile to yourself at how easy that was!

What ingredients would you put in your granola??
Yum! This looks so good!
I love granola in the summer time with yoghurt and some fruit. It’s a great breakfast to get you started for the day!
I seriously love this granola idea!! It looks so delicious, and would be so nice with a nice scoop of homemade yogurt. YUM! I would probably have to add some macadamias to the mix because I’m somewhat addicted to them, hahahaha 😛 oxoxo
LOVED collaborating with you and Sam! <3
