Long Night

Yesterday I worked out of town, leaving at 7.30am, ended up with a rushed lunch (KFC – yes I know terrible) and leaving the place at 5.30pm, dropping off my colleague at 6.30pm.

Went to the dairy on the way home (just a couple of corners away from home), grabbed a drink and went out to the car – DEAD! Not cool!

Pissed off I walked home and told the b/f – who is a mechanic, but wait – he went home earlier in the arvo with some kind of bug, so he’s no use to me!

Lucky his friends are also mechanics or that way inclined. Walked back to the car, jump start the dang thing and it still doesn’t go!

Found a tow rope in the back and attempted to tow it home, yeah the rope snapped in the middle of the intersection – fantastic!

An hour later and some car pushiing I sat down to watch some t.v then went to head out and get dinner (Chicken McCheese – yes tell me off, I was over it by this point) and remembered that my car hadn’t started the day before either (It hadn’t been used in 7 days as I worked out of town last week).

I’m over cars! Luckily the b/f had his that I could use. Hopefully tonight he is feeling better so we can get my car going. I hate being without transport!

Do you have any car horror stories?
Do you own a car or rely on public transport?

  1. Geez, what a sucky day!!!
My husband used to be obsessed with buying cars cheaper at auctions (which is good if you pick the right car at the right auction…) or with finding second hand bombs to supposedly “do up”. At one point I snapped after too many incidents and now I ALWAYS have a reliable car to drive around (especially as I would get stranded when he was out of town)!
Now we’re expecting a baby, I am excited because his old bomb (it’s reliable enough but I am SERIOUSLY not putting a baby in it) is going to get moved on for a nice second family car – FINALLY! šŸ™‚

    1. Totally agree, i’m so glad I have my own car that is pretty reliable – this is the second time ever it hasn’t started (other than another time I left the lights on – so my own fault) – the other was after 5 weeks away so can’t complain too much.

I could not handle not having something reliable. But even more so when you are expecting a wee one!
