Life: Pat Benatar Concert – Taupo

AH-MAZING!

There isn’t much more to say other than that. Seriously the best concert I have ever been too and the one I was most excited for!

It was a long day in the sun and even with sunscreen and reapplying I have a few pink spots but it was well worth it!

I didn’t know much about the first two bands (America and Bachman Turner) and to be honest only knew a couple of songs but they were still good. I went for one reason and one reason only – Pat Benatar and she was incredible!

She played all of my top three songs, which if your interested are;
1. Heartbreaker
2. Hit me with your best shot
3. Hell is for Children

You’ve also got to admire that her and her husband have been together for over 30years and he is the guitar player, AKA they have been under each other’s feet for that amount of time playing and touring together. Props for sure.

If she ever returns to NZ i’ll be there!

  1. I totally agree! Pat was awsum and well worth waiting for!!! Best concert I’ve ever been to over the years. Pat’s voice was stunning considering her age and her husband Neil’s guitar playing was outstanding. These two remind me of Johnny Cash and June Carter in terms of their chemistry, talent, longevity and without a doubt obvious affection for each other. I found that really touching and inspiring, and appropriate considering they added ‘ring of fire’ to their repertoire.
