I have been wanting to start interviewing inspiring people ever since I began this blog – I have finally bit the bullet and asked some people who inspire me in one way or another to answer a few questions about their health and fitness and general lifestyle. Lucky for me a few of them have said yes!
First up we have Nicole from Nicole Joy Inspire
Given I have a major sweet tooth when I stumbled upon Nicole Joy’s Website and realised that her recipes are all made using whole foods I was hooked! Nicole is the author of the Book (in both e-book and hard copy versions!) – ‘Why it’s perfectly acceptable to eat dessert for breakfast’. How could you NOT be intrigued with a title like that?
Over to Nicole…
Hi, I’m Nicole Joy – an entrepreneur in every sense of the word. I have had several businesses and worked in umpteen different jobs and can only recently say that I do what I love and love what I do! Food is where my heart is and teaching people how to nourish the most important relationship they have – the one they have with themselves! – is my passion.
What’s your approach to balance & moderation in life (and/or food)
I don’t do diets, I don’t count calories and don’t believe there are any foods that you can have copious amounts of without any detrimental effects. Too much of ANYTHING is not good for you – especially at the exclusion of something else. Our bodies are extremely unique and will respond differently to different foods. You need to work out what works for YOU and not simply copy the latest fad that’s plastered across the magazine covers. Being healthy is not rocket science! Eat well and exercise. That’s the big secret!
Why do you believe it is perfectly acceptable to eat dessert for breakfast? 😉
When desserts are made from nutritious whole foods sans preservatives and allergens, it’s most definitely acceptable to eat for breakfast!
What is your favourite exercise to do?
I love going for big walks, yoga and Pilates.
What would you say to people who are too scared to try yoga?
The same thing I would say to anyone scared of trying something new – JUST DO IT! The benefits transcend the physical body and before you know it you will be addicted 🙂
What is your favourite healthy food/recipe?
Oh it would HAVE to be my ‘Not-ella’ cookies – check them out here: http://www.nicolejoyinspire.com/blog/raw–not-ella–cookies
What is your number one tip for those who want to live a healthier life?
Planning is key – especially when it comes to food prep. Use Sunday afternoons as planning time for the week’s menu and shopping list – it will really help when you are time poor during the week! Also work out your OWN goals and do what feels right for YOU.
What is one piece of kitchen equipment or ingredient that you swear by?
I can’t live without my Thermomix!
Thank you so much Nicole for agreeing to answer the questions and providing an insight into your lifestyle. Head on over to Nicole’s website (click the image above) and checkout her blog and get your hands on a copy of her book – ‘Why it’s perfectly acceptable to eat dessert for breakfast’.
Hands up who wants a batch of those Raw Not-Ella Cookies right now??
Great interview! She has some yummy recipes 🙂
Thanks, She certainly does 🙂
