I’ve been a little slack on the blog front since I got back from Hawaii, but don’t fear. I am getting there slowly with the blog posts, there has just been a lot of other things going on!
One of the biggest things that draws visitors to Hawaii every year are the awesome beaches and fantastic weather.
I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Hawaii as I have never been able to just sit on a beach and relax for long periods of time, I like to be kept busy and my mind doesn’t handle doing nothing for too long.
The beaches are incredibly beautiful over there though and it is awesome having dinner beside the beach watching the sun set.
I found I could keep myself occupied for 10-20 minutes lying on the beach without having something to do so I ended up taking my book down with me and enjoyed reading in the sun, in between dips in the ocean to cool off.
We took three trips around the island to discover other beaches, two of these were on tours. The first tour was a day trip up to the North Shore were we saw some of the famous surf beaches including Pipeline.
We also tried our hand at paddle boarding for the first time, luckily for both of us our first attempt was in a river and we both managed to stay dry!
The second tour we did was a half day nature tour, which was awesome! I’ll do a more in depth post about the tours we did later.
On the nature tour we stopped at Haunauma Bay Reserve, we didn’t have enough time to head down to the beach but we got a great view out over the reserve.
Haumauma bay is well known for snorkeling and we headed back here on our own for half a day near the end of our trip.
Are you a beach person or do you need to be kept occupied like me???
I love paddle boarding and taking a refreshing dip, but it depends on my mood and the weather 🙂 Even if I don’t want to be in the water, I love a good long walk on the beach (haha cliche)!
There is something so therapeutic about a long walk on the beach, a nice leisurely walk with your feet in the water or the sand is awesome!
