Want to know the secret to loosing weight?
For me apparently it is to go on an overseas trip and eat a load of crap with doing minimal exercise other than walking around all day. Seriously I lost exactly 2kg on the RTW trip, WTH!
With that loss I have officially lost over 10kg, woop woop! I’m not sure exactly how much as I stopped looking at the scales for a good 6 months or so before I began trying to sort my shit out.
Now that I am back I have vowed to myself that I am going to eat better this year, I will still allow myself treats but just not as often as I had been.
Currently I am having salads for lunch and using fruit, nuts and corn thins for snacks. When sugar cravings hit I have been having weight watchers jelly and herbal teas which surprisingly do help. For breaky the past week or so I have been making a yogurt granola style breakfast, chopped up apple, plain low fat yogurt and some apple crumble muesli all layered in a cup. It is kind of awesome, although not as filling as I would like.
I think I will be alternating the yogurt concoction with a protein shake, or perhaps reducing the size of the yogurt and having the shake as well as I have been hungry before morning tea hits and have been shoving down a protein bar instead which were on sale last week but are blimmen expensive so I can’t be doing that everyday.
I am looking forward to getting a Heart Rate Monitor again to see how many calories are burnt in a game of indoor netball and my weights sessions at the gym, bring on the next 30% off sale at Rebel Sport!
My current exercise seems a bit over the top but while my body is handling it I’ll keep going as I like being busy (makes the weeks go faster which is key right now!). I am playing four games netball a week (two indoor, two twilight) and doing four weights sessions at the gym, including cardio on days I don’t play netball. I am also doing one short run (4-5km) a week and hoping to keep this in the mix so long as my legs and knees allow.
I am due for a reassessment at the Gym this week so I am interested to see if my Body Fat % has changed much given the lack of exercise whilst overseas.
WOAH that’s awesome hun, go you!! I wish that happened to me (nope, its the opposite when i travel – gah!).
I totally know about the ‘keeping yourself busy to pass the time’ thing – make the most of it!! Go hard! WOOHOO!
