Exercise Wrap-up: November

This month I pulled back the volume a little bit exercise wise (after the first week!) to give the body a bit of a break and timing wise I had a few long weeks at work so it was perfect timing to give the body a break.

We had our semi and final for netball, of which we will not be entering another season unless the indoor courts reopen in Newmarket, it’s a bit sad as I really enjoy netball but it will be nice to have another weeknight back to do something with.

This month we squeezed in a bike ride out woodhill and when I get a spare 10 minutes at the gym I’ve been hoping on the stationery bike to try and get a bit of training in for the Triathlon next year. 

This month was also time once again for the Corporate Challenge, which is a 5km run around the Domain in Auckland. I had a goal this year to beat my time (set prior to injuring myself earlier in the year) which was unfortunately not successful however given my injury and lack of training I’m not surprised! I also got out of my comfort zone a bit and gave Crossfit a go.

Summer is on it’s way which generally means being outdoors more often and more incidental exercise! I am going to try to do a bit of swimming over summer to get myself ready for the triathlon as well as doing some more bike rides.

  1. How did you find cross fit? November was a bit of a lazy month for me. I was busy and after spending September and October training for the half marathon, I’ve done hardly any running!! I have done more cross fit than normal though and I just got back into running again – feels good šŸ™‚ I feel so much better if I run a few times each week. Cross fit doesn’t give me the same feeling, although I do like it.
