So I think once a week I am going to give a bit of an overview into the exercise I did for that week, mostly for my records so I can look back and see what works and what doesn’t etc.
Monday; Walk to Work
Tuesday; Walk to & from Work (Massive Hill on way home)
Wednesday; Walk to & from Work (Massive Hill on way home) & 1.8km Run
Thursday; Walk to & from Work (Massive Hill on way home) & 1.8km Run
Friday; Walk to & from Work (Massive Hill on way home)
Saturday; Slow Walk around town
Sunday; 1km Walk around Lake, approx 5km Reasonable Paced Walk & around 800m run.
I am quiet proud this week that I actually ran two days in a row and 1 day it was raining. This week I’m hoping to run at least 3 times, maybe 4. Once I am used to running I will start increasing the distance. I don’t think I did too bad considering I havn’t run in AGES.
I’ll have a body like the pic in no time! 🙂
XO
Woohoo go you with the running! I am also a beginner runner – and the ONE thing that has gotten me from my wee 2.6k route straight to a 5k (like literally in the space of a week) was buying a Nike+ system. I wrote about it here: http://chandeleah.wordpress.com/2010/08/19/nike-rocks-my-world/
Highly recommend it if you want some awesome motivation to increase your distance! And you get these cute little graphs which I like posting on my blog 🙂 Good luck!
1.8km run?! Wow, I admire you! I can hardly run for a minute! I found this plan in a magazine of how to run 5km in like 8 weeks. I’m gonna try start it, but it’s so hard with being out from 7am – 6pm each day! Excuses excuses huh! Maybe I need a motivation buddy haha.
Aww thanks girls 🙂
@Kristyn what do you usually do when you get home? Watch t.v, cook dinner? Thats what I used to do and I find keeping busy as soon as I get home, eg prep dinner then go for a run (it doesn’t take long!) then come back and put dinner in the oven etc while I have a shower is working quiet well.
@Leah ooh thanks I’m gunna check out your blog post, I am highly considering doing a half marathon so I need to pick up the pace over the coming months, any extra motivation would be fantastic!
Oooh let me know how Zumba goes I have never tried it but want to 🙂
Yeah I think its a matter of priorities, I could never fit in exercise before but now am forcing myself to and i’m hoping that once I really get into it I will have more energy to do the other things I want so its a win-win.
That’s a good idea! I normally try cook dinner between 6 – 7 because I don’t like eating too late! But I have found a couple of things I can do for exercise later at night, since I’m paranoid about running in the dark. I’m doing Zumba tonight (following the crowd!) then I have work till 8.30 tomorrow night so that’s my day off! And Wednesday I’ma go back to the pools. We’ll see how it goes haha Maybe I should try an exercise diary too! Might help motivate me 🙂
