Do you feel obligated to finish all books you start reading?

Today’s post comes to you courtesy of Plinky – a website that gives a random question everyday that you are supposed to answer on their website.

Stumbled on this site today – not on stumble upon just literally stumbled on it! (Hah!) I think it is a good site for finding some random blogging prompts! And we all know i’m not that creative when it comes to blogging prompts so I need all the help I can get! 😉

So back to the question;

Do you feel obligated to finish all books you start reading?

Nope I don’t! I’m quiet bad at stopping reading a book after the first few pages, this is usually all I need to know if I like a book or not. Although recently I have been trying to at least read the first few chapters as I have hated the first few pages of a book then after a few chapters really gotten into it and enjoyed it!

Your turn;

Do you feel obligated to finish all books you start reading?

  1. I definitely don’t! My mother is someone who feels the need to finish every book, even if she hates it. I just think life is too short to be spent reading bad books.

    The ONLY time I break this is if it’s a bookclub book and then I try my best to finish it simply so I can tell everyone exactly what I hated about it!

    1. Totally nailed my thoughts with the line “life is too short to be spent reading bad books.”

      I think I need to join a bookclub it would help force me to read more books, I tend to only read ‘real’ books!

  2. I totally do feel obligated! I feel like once I’ve started, it’s my duty to soldier on – even when in all honesty I am not even enjoying myself anymore. I have this thing where I don’t want to leave any books unread or partially unread. I like to be able to say that I read a book and gave it my best and therefore if it sucks, I can say so with conviction.
    Such a nerd haha.
