Dear Future Self: Don’t forget to live your healthiest life…

Dear Future Self: Don’t forget to live your healthiest life…

Whatever you’re doing right now. Stop. Go grab a cup of tea, clear yourself of any distractions (I mean it!) and come back and get comfortable.

Got that cup of tea? Good. Settle in….

No doubt you will be feeling guilty for taking the time out for yourself, but you know deep down that it is important. You work too hard, always have done. It’s time to take some time out for YOU, schedule one whole day in your diary where you will do something for yourself this month. No excuses.

I wanted to write this letter to remind you to live your healthiest life. You’ve lived an unhealthy life before and you don’t want to go back there. Trust me when I tell you that living your healthiest life feels SO much better than saying “screw it” and eating junk and not exercising, staying up till all hours of the night.

Your healthiest life is a well-rounded life, a life where you eat well, get adequate sleep, spend time with those you love and of course workout. So, Amanda…. here are some things I want you to remember….

Letter to my future self: Don't forget to live your healthiest life

Don’t forget to sleep well, 8 hours a night is the recommended level of sleep for a reason and you know you feel like crap when you don’t go to bed early.

Don’t forget to nourish your body. Don’t forget that quick meals can be healthy, it doesn’t need to take a long time. Don’t forget to eat more vegetables and less sugar. Your body will thank you for it.

Don’t forget to really look at those around you and fall in love over and over again, it’s the simple things in life that mean the most. Don’t forget that love is the true currency and a life without love is not a life you want to live. Don’t forget what, and who is important.

Don’t forget to always squat below parallel, lift heavy and set goals then smash them. Don’t forget that small and slow progress is still progress. Don’t forget that powerlifting is a time game, and with time you will reach those lofty goals.

Don’t forget that comparison is the thief of joy and where you are today is not the same place that others are, use others accomplishments as a way to set goals for yourself, but never compare yourself.

Don’t forget to do the things you love, this includes travel. It doesn’t need to be far, but don’t forget to travel often. Travel to places that inspire you to live a life where experiences mean more than possessions.

Don’t forget to reply to the reminders for smear tests, they suck but are important for your health and a few uncomfortable minutes could potentially save your life one day. Same goes for any other health checks you require as you age.

Letter to my future self: Don't forget to live your healthiest life

Don’t forget to give back, it doesn’t matter how small or in what capacity. Helping others is one of life’s greatest gifts, use your gifts to help others change their lives. What may seem small and easy for you could turn someone’s life around and put them on a healthier path.

Don’t forget to take time for yourself. Whilst putting others needs first is a lovely trait, you need to look after yourself before you can look after others. Always remembers to make time for yourself, you will get run down otherwise and then be no longer able to do things for others.

Don’t forget to laugh, laughter is good for the soul and great for your health. We don’t laugh as often as we should, take joy in cat memes and the hilarious things that children say. Keep on laughing and smiling.

Don’t forget to always be grateful. Even if it feels as though your world is falling in around you, there is always something to be grateful for. Practising gratitude is good for your health and soul.

Don’t forget that everything that has happened has led you to this moment, this point in your life. Everything happens for a reason. Don’t forget to live a life with no regrets.

Don’t forget life is a gift, life is too short, enjoy every second. Don’t forget to live your healthiest life.

  1. Dear future Suzy, please know that how you are beautiful. Beauty if about living your life and being happy with yourself inside and out. Do not worry about what people think of you. Practice self love and be grateful for the body that you have.

  2. Dear future Jacqui, start whatever you want to now, don’t put it off until it’s more convenient for other people, because you are deserve the gift of giving as much as those that you give to.

    1. Nice motivating article with a new year approaching and new resolutions ready to be set. A fit bit would be a great motivator to start 2017 right! Thanks 😊

  3. Dear future Faaria, no matter how old you get remember you will always remain beautiful no matter the age. Always love yourself and respect others.

  4. Wow, this post seriously gave me the shivers – what an amazing and inspiring letter to your future self. My future self? I hope she hasn’t forgotten to have fun, to laugh and be silly from time to time. Thank you so much for this.

  5. Dear future Roz. Remember to keep smiling and being annoyingly positive coz it does make a difference every day to the people you work with even if they are slow to realise it.

  6. Great advice!!! I would tell my future self that worry never solves anything and getting anxious about things that haven’t even happened is lost energy I could be spending with my family xxxx

  7. Don’t be afraid to take risks to achieve your dream. Don’t listen to the haters and the doubters – their lack of self confidence and self-belief should not put you off achieving your goals and dreams.

  8. Dear future Bianca. Remember that you cant control how long your life is but you can control how wide it is! Oh, and when in doubt, treat yoself!

  9. Dear future Ange, stop putting things off until tomorrow. Stop telling yourself you aren’t worth it. Today is the day to start eating better and to take up that new exercise routine. You want to be as fit and healthy as you possibly can be so you are around to spend more time with your amazing family. Love yourself, you are worth it.

  10. Dear future Natasha,
Don’t forget that as hard as this year was, you survived. Don’t forget that you learned that life is way too short to live a mediocre one and don’t ever settle for just okay. Build the life you want, so that whenever it is through, you can look back and say you were truly happy.

  11. Dear future self,
You are stronger than you think. You are beautiful and you never gave up on anything when you wanted to throw in the towel. You manage to make everything work out and you focus on the positives in life rather than dwelling on the negatives! You have achieved so much and just remember the world is your oyster :)!

  12. Dear Future Vic,
You will be an overcomer, always, it’s in your name after all.
Don’t forget to cherish the small things, for it is many a moment that makes up a life.

  13. Something Constance hall wrote about Maggie dent saying ‘raising our children is a privilege denied to many, every day that we spend with them is a blessing, no matter how hard. Your children are the most important people to ever walk through your front door. The important house guests are right in front of you. Use the good crockery.’ I never want to forget this as my kids grow up!!!

  14. Dear Future Self,

Don’t be afraid to keep challenging yourself. You will be surprised at what you can achieve and what fears you can overcome when you do. Continue to strive for more, don’y get stuck in a rut. Make sure you value yourself and don’t forget to smile. Remember what really matters in life. Love and give generously.

  15. I’d like my future self to never forget what it’s like to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air and the joy of water sports, and that it’s always worth making time for things I love. I forgot when I was studying and I don’t want to forget it again

  16. Be present and stay mindful. When you get distracted you allow the bad habits to come back! Go to yoga, walk those 11,000 steps a day, lift weights and eat healthy! Most of all though, be grateful for how healthy you are in this moment and forgive yourself for mistakes you’ve made!

Most of all future me: be kind to yourself and others which includes the food you put in to your body

  17. Dear Future Self,

You made it! You’re doing what you love & reaping the rewards of your blood, sweat and tears. Well earned. While you enjoy the fruits of your labours, don’t forget to stay focused on your goals and continue to pick challenges – not for the reward, but for what you’ll become in the process. Stay humble, never forget your roots or those that helped you on the way. Reach back a hand to help pull those who need it up on to your playing field & enable them to do for themselves what you have. Be proud of your achievements, but never make the mistake of thinking that your successes make you better than anyone else, because they don’t. Walk with a straight back, greet people with a strong voice and most of all be kind to those around you.

    Best of luck.

  18. Don’t beat yourself up when you fall off track! It’s inevitable that this will happen, so whether it was for a day, week or even month, pick yourself up, get back on track and only matter about the positive things that are going to happen next!

  19. Wow I love this! Future Sam, keep being daring and adventurous, courageous and kind! Everything you put out will come back your way ❤️️

  20. Dear Rebecca
Always remember to get on, in or under the sea all year round, no matter how cold it seems! Remember that leaving by the beach was one of the big reasons to move to the beautiful New Zealand!

  21. Dear future Bella,
Don’t forget to look forward! That boy right now, He ain’t shit. Smash your veges and moisturise your face every morning and night without fail.

  22. Dear future self,
It’s okay. Wait no. It’s not okay. It might never be okay for us. But that’s fine. It doesn’t have to be. Perhaps not yet anyway. I bet you are still hung up on that one boy huh. That boy that said you are his first.
Told you he can wait but then broke your heart again for the 100th time because of long distance. We know it well we should put it behind us already but never could. Maybe as time goes by he’ll fade away like the rest of them, the ones that can’t see you as a priority. Yea, he reminds you of your dad in so many ways. Both egotistical dicks. If they ever met, they’ll get along so well. I guess it’s true what some people said…Your relationship problems are just unresolved childhood issues. Hopefully you’ve already or if not soon you can cut him out of your life too. I bet for sure your bestie is still by your side, and you her’s. Remember to always put her first because she’ll always be willing to do the same for you. You guys are stronger than your fights and distance can’t seperate you two. Listen to her. Love her. Don’t ever disapoint her.

  23. Future me remember to live in the moment, stop waiting for the trip away, for Christmas day or whatever lies in the future and take in what’s around you right now. Notice the detail, how does the air smell, what can you hear, see and feel. Embrace the beauty around you in everyday and you’ll always have something to be thankful for.

  24. I would love my future self to remember I can not be size 8 like I was at 15-21 healthily at 32. Remember to always be kind to everyone to be patient and enjoy your children while they are little. Take time to breathe and some alone and date time. To stay healthy mentally and physically always remember to go for your run or a walk to keep active which in turn will help you keep happy. Never stop taking a walk in fresh air it is so good for the soul

  25. Dear Future self, Remember it’s ok, as long as you are doing the best you can, keep trying, keep smiling and don’t let fear of failure/rejection paralyse you into standing still. You Got this.

  26. No matter what happens don’t worry and stress about things. Talk to people and you will be able to work out solutions to “major” problems. The world keeps moving on, even if you feel you are not ready to. The best thing to do is pick yourself up and focus on improving your situation

  27. I would tell my future self to enjoy the little things and try not to worry too much, it’s so damaging.

  28. i would love my future self to remember that it’s not always easy for every mum to lose the baby weight so quickly. remember not to compare yourself to others and just focus on you and your own health. and last but not least.. happy mum, happy kids, happy home 💕

  29. Dear future self: Love the people around you. Love them a lot. Trust them. Lean on them. Let them in. Be there for them. Make time for them.

  30. Dear future Briar,

Please remember that being tall is not a bad thing, your weight doesn’t define you as long as you’re happy, healthy and living an active life style. Tell those precious people you love them, all the time, things change so quickly so let them know they’re important to you. Remember to drink more water, and eat slowly, you might not actually need seconds.

And last of all, remember that you are the only one like yourself, so own it, because no one does briar better than briar.

  31. Future me, remember you can not be everything to everyone, sometimes you give up and spoil yourself…well done!

  32. Future me, Dont be to hard on yourself, about anything. Don’t let worry control your life and enjoy everything as it comes along. And most of all remember to be happy and positive no matter how hard things may seem, something good will always be around the corner.

  33. Dear future self, Stop bullying yourself. You are geat, You managed to lose 25kg, run 5km without stopping, go on hikes. Remember you are not perfect but you have accomplished so much that others could only dream of. Breathe and enjoy life, you will get there. You are great and you don’t even realize how far you have come.

  34. Don’t forget to get out, go outside ourself, go on adventures and go overseas. If no one will come with you don’t put it off. Go alone. Take a camera and have fun.

  35. Dear future Kate:

Remember that friends will be what get you through tough times. Remember to be kind to them, and be there are much as you can for them when they’re going through tough times.

  36. I would tell my future self not to forget that your peers at high school will be just that – high school idiots. Don’t let them get to you and don’t let them change who you are or what you want to do with your life. Don’t be afraid of going after what you want and deserve because someone makes fun of you for it.

  37. To my Future Self,
I want to take the time to remind you that you’re doing well, and good work for holding up. Also to remind you that the world is not an easy place and you can’t be taking it easy. Every day is just as hard as the last and you should be putting just as much effort as you did yesterday. There are things that can come easy, but that will come along with something just as hard. The obstacles every day will be different. Whether you go to the gym and do a muscle group you think is easy like shoulders compared to one you consider hard like legs. Compensate with control, technique and form. If you get an easy job, or a low paying job, give your full effort with no exception and don’t leave a half-assed mess behind with your name on it. And most of all, enjoy everything you do because life isn’t worth living unless you have fun, and you can never know what moment could be your last. So whether you’re at work, the gym, biking, diving, fishing, hanging out with friends or even cleaning a toilet, make sure you have fun. You think I’m joking about that last one don’t you, I’m not, find a way how 🙂

  38. Dear future Bre,
Always remember your beautiful and it’s okay to put yourself first sometimes. Get 8 hours sleep a night and make sure you get moving everyday!

  39. Dear future Holly
Please remember it will all be worth the sweat and tears, treat yourself and be kind

  40. I would tell myself to keep stopping to look at the small stuff, to keep on smiling, and remember how hard I’ve worked to get to where I am in life! 🙂

  41. What a great post Amanda. It’s easy to take your health for granted, but without it we cannot live our best lives. I would tell myself to have confidence, I am good enough and not to get anxious about all the little things.

  42. Dear future Jenna remember to take some time out for yourself to recharge, your always putting every body and everything first but sometimes you need a break to. X

  43. I would like my future self to always remember that the most important thing is to continue trying and striving. As long as she (I) is doing that, then she should always be proud of herself. Even on the days where the outcome isn’t as she intended.

  44. Dear Future Cushla,
Slow down and enjoy the ride, smell the roses and look around.
Enjoy the beauty in everything you see.
    Be thankful!
Love. Love often, and love well.
    Wear Sunscreen.

  45. Dear future self: don’t forget to live in the moment. Don’t forget that worry gets you nowhere and you’ll just end up missing out. Don’t forget tobe in the photos, not just take them!

  46. Dear future Jenna,

Remember how in 2014 you quit smoking, joined the gym, learnt how to run long distance, and became the fittest and healthiest version you have ever been of yourself, and how this made your head clear and your motivation was so obvious, and you were a role model to your kids while they watched you run 10km and do the Tough Guy and Gal, TWICE and come in top 10?

Well then remember 2 years later, after a relationship break up, a bad job experience, at the end of 2016 when you were the complete and utter opposite. How you were smoking again, overweight, eating badly and too much and lacking any motivation to pick yourself up and take yourself back where you belong? How the anxiety came back and you felt uncomfortable in your own skin?

Well now that it is almost 2018, remember how that felt, and make sure you don’t go back there. You are a full time working, full time studying mum of two of the most beautiful smart and talented girls in the world (and you are also biased!) and you might not have realised then how lucky you have always been.

You have a supportive family who back you no matter what, and soon you will be qualified and on your way to where you were headed over a decade ago.

KEEP GOING, Don’t give up. Smile and love those girls forever and everything after, and make sure you keep showing it.

You didn’t love yourself then, but now, you’ve learnt how. Don’t ever forget. It’s the only way to show your girls how they can do it to.

    2016 Jenna

  47. I want to remind myself not to own other’s stresses. The last 10 yrs has shown what can happen if you don’t draw a line (MS).

  48. To my future self, please remember to put self care on your lists to do. You can’t care for your patients, friends and family properly without looking after yourself first. That means sleeping right and eating right and doing exercise. Not over working, not having enough time to prepare good meals and living on energy drinks to make up for lack of sleep. Wake up and start each day with a smile and fresh attitude. You can do anything you put your mind to, but only you can make that happen xx be kinder to yourself xx you will thank me for it later

  49. Dear future Mulberry, you really did try as hard as you could. Events occurred that were not within your control. You suffered loss and pain. Know that, you have done well, despite the start you had. You have loved and you have been kind. You deserve & deserved so much more. I truly hope, you finally have that long sought, feeling of peace, you have craved throughout your life. I hope you have joy in your life & that you are able to laugh and smile. Now go down to the small playground, across from the river, sit on the swing, propel yourself forward, lean right back, let your hair hang down, look up the sky, like you used to do and embrace the feeling of freedom the backward and forward motion, always gave you, once again 🙂 Thank you, for holding on, Mulberry xxx I love you.

  50. I would tell my future self to hold/hug my children more chill out more don’t fuss over the small stuff

  51. I would like my future self to remember that I am who I am today because I did not give up <3

  52. I would like future me to remember to not sweat the small shit actually don’t sweat anything whatever will be will be.

  53. Don’t forget to stop and look at your children, ,spend time talking to them, listening to them and loving them. The days can be long but the years go fast.

  54. Wow amazing article! To my future self, remember to stand back and realise what’s important and to not stress the small stuff I.e running a little late, messy kitchen and toddlers in bed at night 😆 Don’t forget to just enjoy life!!!

  55. For me it would be don’t be afraid to love, wholeheartedly. Your daughter deserves your full attention. Don’t try to change her, let her be who she is. She thrives on love and affection, don’t let yourself lapse back to being that cold and hostile parent that she knows too well.

  56. I would tell my future self to be kinder. To everyone and most of all to myself. I was so hard on myself and I needed to be so much gentler. Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes. Don’t carry yesterday’s mishaps into the new day. Don’t persecute yourself for things you can’t change or for the hurts done to you. You don’t have to change the world. You just have to change your corner of the world for the better.

  57. Dear future Jac (& right now Jac too!),
You look back on every photo and think how young/fit/radiant you looked & regret that you didn’t appreciate it at the time… so start loving yourself the way you are right now too, because otherwise you’ll look back and regret you didn’t love yourself on this day too.

  58. Dear future self,
Please don’t forget to love yourself and live the healthiest life to be able to raise my gorgeous wee boy who is 10 days old today 😍

  59. Dear Novi…
Don’t forget things happen for a reason so always grateful for what you have and be kind others…today, tomorrow, in the future, ALWAYS….

  60. Dear future Rach,
Love who you are today and stop being so hard on yourself. You are working hard towards your goals, enjoy the journey and the results will show 🙂

  61. Dear Future Self – no, you haven’t stuffed up, you have lived instinctively and done your best. However, trends change, now we have brilliant electronics to check your wellbeing. Use them, learn from them, accept their advice. Everyone has a goal but we must love attaining that goal. As Nike says, JUST DO IT!

  62. Dear future Kim,
Don’t forget that if it’s not going to matter in 5 years then it isn’t worth wasting 5 minutes worrying about it.

  63. Remember to take every opportunity that is presented to you. You let to many slip away this year that could have led to such great things.

Remember you always have people around you to help if you need them. You do not have to do things alone.

  64. Dear Jordana, Dory might just be an animated fish you grew up with but always remember what she said; “when life gets you down, do you know what you’ve got to do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming” don’t ever stop swimming just because there’s something in the way – swim around it if you have to

  65. I would tell myself to keep smiling. Sometimes a simple smile can make the difference in someone else life.

  66. Don’t forget to keep smiling. You never know how a simple smile can make the world of difference in someone else life.

  67. Loveeee this post!!! It’s good to set reminders to ones self. I have a similar dear future me to you around a healthy lifestyle. I have lost 21kgs in the last 1.5 years, want to lose about another 5kgs of fat and gain about 5kgs muscle. It has been a long long long process but eating and living healthy is just SO much better and easier in the long run. I used to drink a lot, smoke, and eat HEAPS if crappy junk food – yet I wondered why the weigh was piling on and why I felt so crap? It seems so obviously now but back then it wasn’t at all. I have changed years or habits into new healthy habits – I love to eat healthy and have discovered the new for me is a plant based oil free diet, it helps my stomach and endometriosis; I loveeeeeee to exercise now – netball, running, biking and hiking is all fun and exercise is apart of my every day life; no alcohol or smokes which saves my health and money; and finally I actually go to bed at a reasonable hour now and sleep amaaazzingg due to the exercise 🙂 So Dear Future me – Keep doing what you are doing! It is definitely not always easy, sometimes you want to cry and give up and eat a mountain of unhealthy food..but you know you will regret it and you absolutely know it makes you feel ill and awful! You have come such a long way not only with your health but also with your happiness, and your healthy habits have changed your life for the better. Remember you have an amazing partner and family to support you, so stop comparing yourself to others because you already have a lot of people who love you just the way you are. And finally remember to be kind to people – everyone is on a journey and you don’t know everyone’s story, treat others the way you want to be treated 🙂

Thanks for the amazing post! 2017 is going to be a goodie 😀

  68. I would tell my future self to just say yes to whatever you want to do. Don’t hesitate because 9 times out of 10 you will regret it.

  69. Always remember that every body is beautiful – you admire the girl ‘brave’ enough to wear a bikini, but why can’t that be you! Also, talk to yourself as if you were talking to your best friend – because you are your own best friend

  70. Great article Amanda!!

I would also tell myself to laugh more, not be so serious and keep it simple don’t worry about the little things!

Work hard at the things that are worth working for, effort in is results out!!

And finally to LET GO of the past and negative shit, JUST LET GO you’ll be soooooo much happier!!

  71. Live happy, healthy and full of joy that is all I want for my life 💗 To never live in the past always focus on the present and prepare for the future.

  72. Dear future Olivia,
Remember that where you are right now, even though you have goals, is okay. If you hate yourself you’ll never leave the rut you’re in, you’ll never reach those goals if all you do is continue to hate what you’ve become. Follow the postivie advice that surrounds you.

  73. Dear future Kim, always talk nicely to yourself to build your self esteem and never tolerate someone treating you less than you deserve.

  74. Dear future me,
Don’t forget that you’re on your own journey, nobody else’s. Sometimes it might take longer, but it’s well worth the wait. Keep your head up and push through!

  75. Dear future me, set goals and have fun. Put yourself first sometimes. Absorb the special moments, and dont forget to be happy.

  76. Dear future self, know that you need to love yourself first before anyone else, and that all those salads, workouts and food diaries will pay off.

  77. Dear future Jenni,
Don’t sweat the small stuff, in the end it’s what u learn along the way. Focus on the bigger picture, both the present and the future!

  78. Dear future self,
Make sure that whatever you are doing, you are making yourself proud. Don’t worry about what other people think, do what works for you. And most importantly relax and enjoy life.

  79. Dear future self, if you’re reading this, congratulations, you made it! Remember, yesterday has gone, tomorrow isn’t promised. Make the most of today.

  80. To my future self. Don’t forget to live and appreciate every moment. It is only there for a second and then gone forever. Take time to connect to others around you.

  81. Dear future self. Always eat healthy and remember the east option is not always be the best option. Keep doing your fitness to show your kids you are a good role model even when things look hard give it ago. Always be positive and never give up on your goals even if it take a ages to achieve them you will be proud once you have.

  82. Dear Future Rhiannon,
Remember to stay Jan the present and not get lost looking back into the past or worrying about the future. Appreciate and cherish the moments you have now

  83. Don’t forget family. They are the closest thing to home and are related by blood. No matter how much we fight and argue I need to remember they are always going to be there for support and guidance. Some friendships past but family is forever.

  84. Sto worrying about the small stuff and stop living in the past focus more on today and tomorrow..You can’t bring back yesterday..

  85. Dear future self, your done alright so far but beware, now your middle age the spread has begun. It’s even harder to keep the weight off – in fact, you’ve slipped a bit.
Remember – you can live a fun life eating yummy things, but keep up the exercise. Do at LEAST three classes a week and put your all into it.

  86. Dear future self, you’ve done alright so far but beware, now your middle age the spread has begun. It’s even harder to keep the weight off – in fact, you’ve slipped a bit.
Remember – you can live a fun life eating yummy things, but keep up the exercise. Do at LEAST three classes a week and put your all into it.

  87. Dear Future Self,
Nobody is thinking about you! Stop spending time wondering what other people think of your life and your choices, nobody is thinking about you anyway!

  88. Dear future Sammy, remember the days in vet school where the stress levels were incredibly high, but you got through each year because of your new uplifting and light-hearted friends who you had fun with. Remember that not all your friends bring out the positive side of you, some pull you down and make you sad. Remember once you’re working in the stressful veterinary field with a high suicide rate that you need to surround yourself with positive people, remove the toxic people from your life. Remember how you went to bed early so you could get up at 6am for a swim with friends before uni. Remember how if you weren’t too exhausted after a long day how you would go for a walk by the river and feel uplifted at the beauty of nature and people and dogs. Remember to make time for exercise once you’re working as it really does have an incredibly positive inpact on your life. Remember how hard it was to keep in touch with family and distant friends while studying, and work towards making an effort to catch up with them when you’re home. 89. dear future carolyn, remember all the hard work you have done, please keep up your good work

  90. Future Eddy, remember to take time out for your wife Debs, your boys and get balance in your day, work is not all or nothing if it hurts the ones you love. Exercise no mater how small something is better than zilch. Eat a balanced diet. Forgive move on and Explore Everyday.

  91. Love yourself on the journey – it doesn’t happen as quick as you would like but you are changing every day – look back and you have changed…

  92. I love those – I would remind my future self to continue laughing through all circumstances

  93. Definitely don’t want to forget that comparison is the their of joy! I really really need to remember that! And not to forget to the end goal

  94. This is such an amazing post!! Loved it❤ I would like my future self not to forget how important it is to keep in touch with my family and friends.

  95. Dear Future Ann Krista,

Always remember, you’ll never get that ass by sitting on it, go walk, run, jump, squat, do whater, move, but don’t remain sitting for a very long time. Also, remember it always starts with a little effort, it starts with a single step, you’ll get there. Believe. Have faith. Oh and it’s your birthday today, you might just get lucky! You’ll see in the future 🤞🏻

    Love,
    Ann Krista of 2016

  96. Don’t forget that everything that has happened has led you to this moment, this point in your life. Everything happens for a reason. Don’t forget to live a life with no regrets.

  97. Don’t forget to make the most of your parents, grandparents and the other older generations. Now that I’m getting older, I realise that I took them for granted at times. I always try to make the most of every moment with them now.

Also – Don’t forget to look after your teeth. Those things are expensive!!

  98. Dear future Pania, don’t get lazy again because you won’t find it easy to be back in shape. Remember the last lot of pain you went through to get where you are now!

  100. Dear future Tami, please done ever forget to beleive in yourself and to know your worth. You have alwasy worked hard for everything you have achieved. Continue to have a beautiful soul and keep being happy

  101. I agree with your point – don’t forget to be grateful, & thankful for everything I’m happy to have. ≤3

  102. I would like my future self to remember not to sweat the small stuff so often. Take deep breaths and be in the moment more! Being a busy mumma to my wee babes I feel like I’m always rushing things and I need to learn to take my time and soak them up as much as possible as they’re growing up so quickly. Love more and smile more. Merry Christmas xx

  103. Dear future me,
Never forget that health means more than just food or exercise, but mental health as well. The combination of all three add up to something amazing and you’ll feel all the better for it. Keep on eating well, exercising often (ish), and practicing mindfulness every day possible. Health is happiness, and happiness is health. 🙂

  104. What I would like my future self to remember is; get at least 7 hours sleep to function as a teacher, relax and chill – stop stressing so much, keep up with the dancing and fitness – if students see your passion then they will continue to be inspired too, and hey, remember to read a book every once in a while, your brain needs it.

  105. I would tell my future self to live each day to the fullest, to make the most of every day. Life is too short so eat the cake and enjoy it too. Remember to treasure moments before they become a memory

  106. Dear Future Beccy. Dont forget to Breathe. Relax. Let got. De-stress. Stop taking on the problems of those that surround you. You cany save everyone. Let them grow strong and think for themselves and make time for youself. Be happy and live in the now. Love me xox

  107. Dear future Natalie,
I would like to say remember to always love yourself your mind, your body and your spirit! Self love involves everything and everyone in your life, when you love yourself anything is possible <3 😉 x

  108. To my future self
Dont forget the kids grow up so fast spend as much time as you can with them and lead by example.

  109. Don’t forget even when you feel crappy and like you are failing at life that you have a pretty good track record of making it through and you will again.

  110. Remember to enjoy every difficult moment as a parent and appreciate them for the small inquisitive humans that they are 💞

  111. Dear future self, please don’t forget to take time out for yourself and recharge your batteries so you don’t over commit and under deliver

  112. Dear future Kelly don’t forget what an amazing support network of friends and family you have…don’t forget you are NOT superwoman and trying to be it’s good for you, your family or your friends ✌🏼

  113. Dear future Kelly, don’t forget you have an amazing support network of friends and family who love you and want to help! You are NOT superwoman and trying to be isn’t good for you, your family or your friends 👌🏼✌🏼

  114. I hope my future self continues to live in the present, not wishing away or wishing for time but enjoying what is there. I also hope my future self is enjoying her Fitbit 😉

  115. Dear future self, please don’t forget that nothing is a failure, it always teaches you a valuable lesson ❤

  116. Dear future self
Don’t forget to sleep to prepare for good peaceful sleep
Don’t forget to appreciate others to laugh with your children, lie in bed with your partner and visit your parents
Don’t forget to be mindful in all situations
Don’t forget to give back at least once a year

  117. This one resonated with me, and I guess a lot of other women – Don’t forget to take time for yourself. Whilst putting others needs first is a lovely trait, you need to look after yourself before you can look after others. Always remembers to make time for yourself, you will get run down otherwise and then be no longer able to do things for others.

  118. Dear Future Self
Enjoy every moment, live for today, always have a kind word to say, kindness and a smile will make such a difference to someone else’s day 🙂

  119. I’ve been so much happier and healthier in all areas of my life since regularly practicing yoga. It is such an amazing change!

  120. Future self, please remember to live in each moment, and be kind to yourself.

Live peace, speak kindness, dwell in possibility.

  121. Don’t forget:
    💙 Eat half
    💚 Move double
    💜 Laugh triple
    ❤️ Love without measure

I want to win this soooo much! I’ve wanted a Fitbit forever and I know it would help hugely with my fitness goals for the new year!

  122. I want my future self to not forget how to put myself first above anything else. How self-love should be my first love before I am able to love anyone else fully.
I want my future self to not forget how to nourish my body, mentally, physically, and spiritually. To have a positive outcome in life and to forgive. 💙💙💙

  123. Dear future self,

I know you want to look after everyone else all the time.
You mustn’t forget that if you don’t fill your own cup then your useless to others.

    Look after yourself first.
    You are worthy.

    X

  124. Dear future and present Courtney. You will never be more lovely then you are now. Stay true to yourself and the right people will surround you. Exercise because it makes you feel good not because you struggle to fit in with everyone else and their perfect bodies. Eat your greens and stop dieting! This Fitbit would be so amazing to help me live a healthy lifestyle for 2017 and develop healthy habits for the future me xx

  125. Dear future self,

You don’t always have to take that extra night shift. Take some time for yourself, go to the beach or a show and relax. You could even use that time to catch up on the days of missed sleep from this year. 🙂

  126. Amazing article! 🙂 I think don’t forget to believe in yourself! You CAN DO anything. Also, support, friends and family will always be there for help, motivation and encouragement to get where you want to be. And most of all, have FUN! 🙂 🙂

  127. I would like to not forget to go for runs lol also not to forget family and loved ones and to remind them how much they are all appreciated 💙😊

  128. I’d never like myself to forget that you should never wait to do tomorrow what you can do today! Any form of exercise is good so do what you can today because that means you can go further tomorrow!

  129. I think it’s important to not forget that investing in yourself now is investing in future…

  130. Dear future Jay

You are beautiful and I love you. Learn to love yourself more. Treat your body like a temple. Keep on keeping on!

  131. Love the message to self! Reminders for the future that speak to the self in the present moment! That totally made sense in my head but not on paper hahahahaa

  132. Dear future self

It’s simple….love yourself! Love every part of you…love your soul and your heart. Love your body and your mind. Remember to be present in every moment so that you may know yourself fully each time.

  133. Don’t forget to always give back💙 I wouldn’t be where I am today if someone hadn’t taken the time out of their day to spend helping me. Giving me patience and guidance every step of the way. Pass it forward 👊🏼

  134. Dear future self!! Don’t ever give up, sure it gets hard sometimes but you always, always pull through and it’s so worth it! If you don’t like the direction you are headed, change it!! YOU GOT THIS

  135. Don’t sweat the small stuff because in the long run it’s not worth it. Enjoy the time you have because things change and move so fast

  136. Loved this article. My husband always says this too… “Helping others is one of life’s greatest gifts, use your gifts to help others change their lives. What may seem small and easy for you could turn someone’s life around and put them on a healthier path.”

  137. Dear future self…Don’t forget to take time for yourself. Whilst putting others needs first is a lovely trait, you need to look after yourself before you can look after others!

  138. Going to get my 8 hours tonight. This is wonderful and you are beautiful inside and out.
The Fitbit would definitely help me out which would make me feel more confident in what I’m doing.

  139. I like your one! Dear future self; Don’t forget that comparison is the thief of joy! It’s so true.. it’s so easy to do, and it can turn a perfectly good moment, or accomplishment bad. Compare you to you! 👌🏼💕
Also don’t forget to be brave! Constantly challenge yourself, Anita, so you can grow and evolve and learn and be a better, bolder, more fearless version of me now!

  140. I would tell her to follow her dreams and don’t be influenced by others because I can’t take care of others without helping yourself first. Be strong in what you know and believe and follow ur own path cause there is no other that will be the same as yours. Also to love urself even on bad days and to appreciate and look after the body you have ❤ be thankful for your health! It can be so easily taken away

  141. Dear future Rhian,
Don’t give up on your dreams and keep pushing yourself to the limit. Don’t let your mind control you!

  142. Dear future self,
Always put health and family first, money and objects wil always come and go but people don’t. Remember to look after yourself and those you care about!

  143. Healthiest = happiest
Healthy in all aspects mind, body and soul.
Not necessarily the one best version of yourself. It’s a work in progress.
    Love this article.

  144. Dear future Shana. It would be great if you could learn to love and appreciate yourself more. Please come to realise your not fat and food is not your enemy!

  145. So important to live life to the fullest. Looking forward to setting a few goals for 2017 and exercise will be more of a feature. 😊

  146. Dear Future Lou, Good work on getting back to your pre-baby weight (hehe), just remember there is no getting back to your pre-baby shape. Just learn acceptance. Please remember to that your little tornado will be big before long, so keep dancing everywhere, laughing at her joy in life and don’t sweat the small stuff. Also teach her to dream big and then show her that realising those dreams takes time, determination, a little bit of luck and won’t be found on a reality TV show.
