My travel lusting list is constantly full! As soon as I cross something off the list it seems as though another 5 jump straight back on it. I think travel will always be a huge part of my life.
I have been fortunate enough to travel to a lot of destinations for someone my age. I say fortunate and not lucky because I have made travel a priority in my life and luck had nothing too do with it (other than those $920 return flights to Argentina – say what?!).
In no particular order here are my current Top 5 Travel Lusts.
// Bali
Bali is right near the top of the list of my current travel lusts, which would have surprised me a few years ago. It’s a very common tourist destination from Australia and New Zealand and I often stray away from the common tourist destinations (must be getting old!).
I really want to take a few weeks off, jet off to Bali and live in a cheap little place right on the beach! Daily strolls along the beach will be mandatory, food will be plentiful and the shopping just perfect.
// Dubai
Dubai isn’t somewhere I ever thought I would want to go as well, and I have even been there before which surprises me even more! The heat and the cost of getting there is a big killer for this plan.
BUT taking a Land Rover over the dunes in Dubai is freaken amazing and I’d love to do it again! The shopping was pretty damn good too and the shopping malls are nothing short of incredible! There was an ice skating rink in one of the malls!
// Croatia
Eastern Europe has been calling my name for a few years now, for a number of reasons. Near the top being that it is freaken beautiful! It is also a lot cheaper and less touristy than the rest of Europe.
Plus – check out that view! How could you NOT want to go there, like right now?! Dubrovnik also has extensive defensive stone walls around the city which I really want to check out.
// Czech Republic
Too be honest I’m not really sure why the Czech Republic is near the top of my list, but it is! I think it has something to do with having all the charms and quaintness of the Europe we like to fantasize about, without all the hordes of tourists that places like Paris claim.
As much as I don’t like being cold, I would love to visit the Christmas Market in Prague. Wandering around sippling warm apple cider would be amazing!
// Bolivia
The reason I want to go to Bolivia can be summed up in two words: ‘Lake Titicaca’. Seriously I saw this on a T.V programme a few years back and I have wanted to go there ever since. Lake Titicaca not only has a slightly humorous name, it also is the largest lake in South America (by volume of water).
Bolivia is also famed for its extensive salt flats, Salar de Uyuni salt flats are over 10,000 square kilometres! This is where you can take photos of yourself seemingly holding your friends on your hand, the salt flats lead to a lot of photography trickery, check out the pics for yourself!

(I have to admit, I’ve felt a bit confused when people have said “oh, you’re so lucky to have travelled so much!” Lucky?! Those travels usually took months of working 3 jobs, endless saving and hundreds of two minute noodle dinners to come to fruition… not luck!)
Japan and New York at the top of my wish list. It’ll be a while before I venture to either, but I’m so excited for when I do!
Recently visited Bali, if I won the lotto I’d be straight back there (-:
