I’ve posted on Instagram a few times now about my Crockpot Spiced Nuts and had quite a few people asking for the recipe so I thought I would put it up on the blog. These Crockpot spiced nuts are super easy to make and taste delicious.
This is one of those ‘recipes’ that I feel a bit bad calling a recipe because you literally throw everything in the crockpot and walk away then when they are ready you pop them in an airtight container.
Anyway, a short recipe is the best kind of recipe in my opinion! I mentally switch off when I see really long complicated recipes, I mean, who has the time for that? I made a tonne of batches of these nuts as we popped them in small glass jars with the recipe attached as a small Christmas Gift for our Bootcampers. They make great gifts because you can make them ahead of time, they look good and are healthier than chocolates.
Anyway, here is my crockpot spiced nut recipe!
Ingredients
2 tsp olive oil
2 shakes sea salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chilli powder
3c nuts (your choice, I used cashews, almonds, walnuts and hazelnuts)
Directions
1. Add all the nuts to the crockpot
2. Add all the spices and salt to a small container and combine.
3. Pour the olive oil over and nuts and stir the nuts to get the olive oil all through the nuts (it doesn’t sound like much olive oil, but it is enough!).
4. Spoon the spice mixture over the nuts a teaspoon at a time and mix through the nuts.
5. Cook for 1 hour on high in the crockpot, then remove the lid and cook for a further 20 minutes without the lid.
6. Store in an airtight container.
What type of nuts would you use in these Crockpot Spiced Nuts?
