Clean Peanut Butter Chocolate Bark Recipe

Sometimes you just need chocolate or peanut butter, my preference is to have them together. I have create a Clean Peanut Butter Chocolate Bark recipe to satisfy these cravings without the lull that often follows such sugary treats.

This recipe for the clean peanut butter chocolate bark is completely refined sugar free, dairy free, gluten free as well as being vegan! It can also be paleo friendly if the peanut butter is swapped for almond butter!

If you don’t like hazelnuts you can swap them out for any nuts of your choice, you could even swap out the coconut chips for something else of your liking. Pistachios and cranberries would go quite nicely I reckon.

This recipe is super easy and doesn’t take long at all. You simply melt together the ingredients in a saucepan over a low heat, pour into a tin lined with baking paper and pop into the freezer for 20-30minutes to set, then break apart and indulge!

Ingredients
  • 3 Heaped Tablespoons PICS crunchy peanut butter
  • 3 Teaspoons honey (or maple syrup/agave)
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder (or cacao)
  • 1/3 Cup Coconut Chips (Optional)
  • 1/4 Cup crushed hazelnuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Melt the first four ingredients together over a low heat in a saucepan.
  2. Add in the optional ingredients (add anything else you might want to add here)
  3. Pour onto a baking paper lined tray and pop in the freezer.
  4. After 20-30 minutes it should be hard, lightly break the bark into smaller pieces.
  5. Store in the fridge

Notes
You can use store brought chocolate instead of the coconut oil/cocoa powder/honey if you wish, I’d recommend a 85-90% block of dark chocolate. Just melt slowly over a saucepan and add the other ingredients. [br]You can also use smooth peanut butter but you may want to add some additional nuts in the mixture.

  3. Oh seriously? I am in SUCH trouble now. Chocolate? Peanut butter?? Coconut oil?? You have 3 of my favorite things in one simple recipe. Let the holiday love handle construction project commence. πŸ˜‰ (Okay FINE. I’ll exercise. But only for the chocolate and peanut butter.)

  4. I don’t eat peanut butter very often and when I do I buy organic at my local grocery, but I like the idea of making this at home so I know what the heck is in it!

  5. One of the things I love best about barks is how customizable they are! I love your clean version, and I will definitely be making it this holiday season for my mom who can’t have dairy or refined sugars, thanks :).

    1. I’m so glad you can use the recipe for your mum! I love how customizable they are as well, you can add as many or few ingredients as you like. I think I would like some chopped glacΓ©ed cherries in it too πŸ˜‰
