Sometimes you just need a snack with a hit of protein to help keep you fuller for longer. I personally get like this in the afternoon on the days that we have bootcamp as I’ve been awake for a long time and know that dinner will be late as we have our bootcamp session after work and then have to pack up and go home.
I hadn’t made any protein goodies in a wee while so decided before Christmas to give a Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bar a try. They are super easy to make and don’t use any weird ingredients so you can purchase everything at the supermarket if you don’t already have them in your cupboard.
These Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Bars are refined sugar free and gluten free provided you use oats and protein powder which are gluten free.
Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup whey (I used chocolate peanut butter)
2 tablespoons almond flour
6 tablespoons peanut butter
4 tablespoons almond milk
2 tablespoons honey
hazelnuts (for decoration)
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients
2. Top with hazelnuts for decoration
3. Store in the fridge for a couple of hours and then cut into bars and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
