My Fitness Pal

As I have mentioned before I have been using My Fitness Pal for a while now, perhaps not consistently to begin with, However I have been pretty consistent for the past few weeks.

Using My Fitness Pal to track my food and exercise has helped me immensely. Combined with getting to the gym every week day that I can and running occassionally I have now lost 4.1kg! It sounds like more when you see it in pounds…

That still may not seem like a lot, but to be honest I don’t have that much too loose and this 4.1kg loss means I have now lost 7% of my starting weight! No wonder my clothes are fitting better with every passing week and I am going to need to go shopping soon as I can take my pants off without unbuttoning them.

My number 1 tip for using My Fitness Pal would be to add people from your own country as friends and make your diary visible! I didn’t start being consistent until I added people who were from NZ so they were on at roughly the same time helping me along. And then you can see the types of foods they eat and it helps give you some good ideas.

I think I will still use MFP even after I have reached my goal weight, even if it’s only once in a while to ensure I am keeping my portion sizes on track and not making myself gain weight.

I’m DreamingKiwi on MFP, so add me if your on there 😉

Are you on My Fitness Pal?

Have you ever tracked Calories?

  1. My Fitness Pal has been my bestest friend. I have had to give it up as I’m pregnant, but I will definitely jump back on after the baby’s born! It did wonders for me. It motivated me and gave me a realistic calorie count – instead of me guessing or rounding down or all those other little self sabotage things we can do when we’re in denial!
It was so easy to use that I didn’t have to think too hard about it and I loved entering in my exercise too – it’s great!

    1. I love how simple and easy to use it is! Make sure you add me when you starting using it again 🙂

  2. I may have to jump back on the MFP bandwagon now that I have my phone up and working. I found it hard to track when I didn’t have the app on my phone and wasn’t around a computer all the time. Now I’ve set my phone up and am with a provider with which I can actually use the internet on it, I shall start using it. I might even start right now 🙂

    1. Definately start right now! No time like the present! And add me if were not already friends – and other people from NZ it will help keep motivation up.
