3pm Brain Fog Be Gone (6 Tips for more Energy Naturally)

Ever have one of those days that 3pm rolls by and all you want to do is stuff a chocolate bar in your face and then sleep? Who am I kidding, we’ve ALL had one of those days, for some of us it happens almost everyday!

The 3pm brain fog is a big obstacle in your healthy living journey as it’s easy to succumb to those cravings and lack of energy and feed yourself with more bad food. Today’s post is all about beating that 3pm brain fog with natural energy sources.

3pm Brain Fog BE GONE, 6 tips for more energy naturally

No more undoing all that hard work during the day, thanks to the 3pm brain fog demon. Try one or more of these 6 tips for more energy naturally each time you feel that 3pm brain fog sneaking up on you. If you’re having a particularly bad visit from the 3pm brain fog demon, try combining a number of these natural energy tricks.

// Hydrate
By keeping hydrated I mean increasing the amount of water you are drinking. It’s so easy to forget to drink during the day while you are busy working on other things. Water, is the most effective way to naturally hydrate. Increasing your water intake by drinking herbal teas is acceptable if you find it hard to drink more water. Get yourself a glass of water or cup of herbal tea, taking a few minutes as a time out and then go back to your day.

// Guarana Powder
So often we reach for a coffee in the afternoon when we are feeling that 3pm brain fog, a more natural alternative is Guarana Powder. Guarana berries originate from the Amazon and are grown widely throughout Brazil, the caffeine from the berries has been used for centuries to provide a short term boost of energy and assist with cognitive function. Try incorporating Guarana into a lunchtime drink to get a boost of natural energy, that will sustain you through to the end of the working day. Fit Tip: Guarana Powder can also be used as a pre-workout substitute, no need for those artificial pre-workouts that keep you up at all hours of the night and give you the jitters while working out.

3PM BRAIN FOG, 6 tips for more energy naturally

// Fresh Air
Get out and grab yourself some fresh air, it sounds so simple but really does help. Fresh air does the world of difference, especially with most of us cooped up inside offices all day during the week. Not only does the feeling of fresh air give you a bit of instant energy it also helps to wake you up and a small dose of Vitamin D (thanks to the sun) gives you an added natural energy boost. Some afternoon tea times I will go for a walk around the block just to get some fresh air and it’s amazing the difference it makes.

// Stretch
Stretching works along the same lines as doing a quick workout, but is a lot easier to do in an afternoon tea break. Stretching assists in getting your blood flowing more freely around your body and giving you those all important endorphin’s which is the feel good hormone. Take a few minutes to really stretch out while focusing on your breathing for a double whammy.

6 tips for more energy naturally, 3pm brain fog be gone!

// Laugh
I give you permission to spend your afternoon tea break looking up as many grumpy cat memes as you can until your energy is sufficiently lifted! Grumpy cat may not be your cup of tea but just find what it is that makes you laugh, and do that for at least a few minutes and see how different you feel afterwards. Spending a few minutes watching funny videos on YouTube or looking at funny pictures really can help lift your energy naturally.

// Deep Breaths
Take deep breaths, you should be able to physically see your belly moving when you breathe in and out. This is when you will really begin to breathe deeply. Stop for a minute and take 20 deep breaths and then continue with your day. Really focusing on your breathing helps you to come back to center and effectively restart. The act of breathing deeply is something that we don’t actually do all that often but it’s super important to help keep the blood pumping through your body, with an added bonus of some mental clarity.

Which of these tips will you incorporate into your life??

  26. The 3PM Brain Fog used to hit me everyday when I was working a corporate job. By the time 4 Pm was reaching, I’d be bored to death that talking would seem to be Herculean task. I quit my job to work on my business, discovered nootropics, and I have been fogless for as long as I can remember know. Unfortunately, I am mostly an indoors person, and I haven’t put most of the tips recommended here into practice.

  27. As I re-start my journey to shed the stubborn last few kgs of excess weight theae suggestions & reminders are great to keep mindful of! Thanks for the prompts!

  28. The cat meme caught me completely off guard and I just about spit my coffee everywhere! Too funny! The 3 pm fog gets me just about every day, so I appreciate your tips greatly. Fresh air does help immensely, as does moving around and stretching — I just have a hard time taking the time to do it and regroup.

  29. These are great tips. For me around 2pm everyday I need to get up and stretch and breathe some fresh air. Other wise I am good for nothing until I leave the office. I almost always get a nice second wind on my way home. Probably the fresh air and walking to my car.

  30. And don’t forget COFFEE! I usually have a cup in the afternoon. I blend half regular with half decaf to get a perk without a buzz.

I love drinking water but sometimes I get a little sick of it, adding in a tea every now and again helps keep me on track. Great tips!

  33. Hydrating and getting fresh air are two of my biggest obstacles during the day. I work in a pretty tightly controlled office environment, so no quick trips outside for me. Hydrating has always been an issue. I just suck at drinking water. I have a huge tumbler full sitting in front of me right now. It’s my new goal this week to kill at least 3 of these every day.

  34. My brain fog happens earlier than 3 p.m., sadly.

    My son would love it if I were to get outside more. I think I’ll try that and some good ol’ water in the cup (instead of my faithful caffeinated beverage).
