Kiwis are no strangers to sweet things and the demand for low-calorie, natural sugar-alternatives has never been greater. Now with Naturals by Equal, New Zealand’s newest 100% natural sweetener brand, you can have your cake and eat it – without the calories!
Made from extracts of the Stevia plant and other natural fruit sugars, Naturals is the chic new look for Equal Stevia – New Zealand’s favourite range of 100% natural sweeteners. Equal lovers needn’t worry though because Naturals is still the same great tasting product with 97% less calories than sugar.
While I’m not a huge believer in using sweetener as having sweet foods can often lead to craving more sweet foods I do enjoy having some form of sweetener in my cup of tea each day (the single serving sachets are perfect for this, I keep the dispenser in my handbag for those occasions where the clients I go to only have normal sugar and I don’t feel like having a unsweetened tea).
Sometimes you just really want a sweet treat and I think having Stevia as a natural option is a great option to have, and if your watching your calories you will really love the fact that there are pretty much no calories in it (unless you eat the whole package maybe!).
If your going to be having a sweet treat why not try out the new naturals range and see how they can work for you. Some people do find that Stevia gives them a weird after taste or that it can be bitter, I personally have never had any issues so it is worth a try to find out if you like it or not.
Now available in supermarkets national wide as well as select independent retailers, Naturals by Equal comes in four formats; a box containing 40 single serve sticks (RRP $6.99), spoon for spoon granule jar 40g (RRP $6.99), crunch granule 250g pack (RRP$9.99) and a convenient dispenser of 200 tablets (RRP $11.99).
How do you find the taste of Stevia? Do you use sweeteners in your baking?
I just made some macaroons using this range – they turned out great!! Posted recipe on my blog 🙂
Yum sounds delicious!
I’ve always been a little weary of sugar replacements.. Do you notice a difference in taste?
I’m a bit warey of them as well, I do like that Stevia comes from a plant compared to other sweeteners. I have noticed a slight difference in taste when I use it in my tea but haven’t noticed it in baking.
