Regret… Flip it the Bird

I’m not sure where I heard it but I love this quote;

‘You hardly ever regret the things you do do, but basically always regret the things you don’t do’.

Yeah thats not exactly how it goes but its the basic premise of it!

And you know what It is so so true! Although this is a lame example, I’ll give one anyway.

I am shit scared of heights, like I never usually cry but heights can break me down to tears pretty easily!

I was in Christchurch a couple of years ago and we decided to climb the cathedral, I was doing fine until the last two sets of stairs that were pretty much vertical, completely freaked out hyperventilating etc and made the other person keep going while I had a mini heart attack with my back against the wall not moving anywhere.

This is one of the very few things I regret not doing! Ever since then anytime i’ve started something then got scared i’ve tried to remember this so I can push myself through it!

So this is for you regret;

And I shall leave you with another quote I just found;

“I have no regrets in my life. I think that everything happens to you for a reason. The hard times that you go through build character, making you a much stronger person.”

XO

  1. I LOVE this quote! I have had it in my life for a while now and I always try to live by it.

    My dog was dying of cancer a few years ago, (maybe like 5 years ago?) and one morning I woke up and he was sitting in the backyard throwing up yellow stuff. We knew it was his time to go, so we called the vet over to have him put down. I had to decide if I wanted to sit with him while it happened. I didn’t want to, cause I knew it would be hard, but I thought of this idea and I knew I had to. It was one of the hardest things I ever had to do but I have never regretted it. Although I was thinking about it on Saturday and I was getting a bit upset thinking about it!

    It may seem like a silly example, as many may think it’s just a dog, but I love my pets like my family – and I was only 14 at the time so it was such a hard decision.

    Such a wise quote, and definitely a good one to follow ! x

  2. I know what you mean about the panic attack! I have the same things when I go anywhere near hospitals! Just freeze & hyperventilate & can’t move at all. My biggest regret is that I was outside in the hospital hallway crying & panicking – and never saw my Great Grandmother before she passed away.

    When my dad was in hospital a couple of years ago – i knew I had to get past it. I had to get in there and see him, but I just about broke my poor brothers arm I was clutching it so hard. Dad knew that it was an effort for me to get in there, but little by little it got easier.
    I just knew I would regret it if I didnt make myself!

    Definitely something worth thinking about hey?!

    1. I think its interesting the things that freak other people out! To others they may not seem justified but they are legitimate fears!

      We just need to remember not to let out fears get in the way of living our life to the fullest I guess!
